Native and near-native speakers undertaking language units and majors
I speak a non-English language fluently, can I enrol in that language unit/s or major?
Students from a culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) background with a native and near-native language skill level may be able to study some language units, as follows:

- Advanced stream can accommodate native speakers
- Minor streams: French
- Native speakers can complete FREN2812, FREN3813 and/or FREN3814 without completing the major.

- Advanced stream can accommodate native speakers

- WACE 3 stream cannot accommodate native or near-native speakers
- Minor streams: Japanese Language and Culture
- Native or near-native speakers can complete JAPN1405, JAPN1406, JAPN2407, JAPN2408.(Subject to language staff assessment and approval)
- There is no major possible for students who commence at JAPN1405, even with student exchange / study abroad

- WACE 3 or above can complete KORE2403, KORE2404, KORE3405, and KORE3406.
